My friend and I did our workaway with Chris, unfortunately Cathy was not there when we were. We did gardening, housework, yard work, and helped set up for events. The work was manageable and it was fun spending time with Chris........ The accommodations are in a very old beautiful house, we had our own room to stay in..... I spent a full month here.  Chris, Cathy and their dog Auggie gave me a very warm welcome and I immediately felt like a part of the family. I saw Cathy only on my first day but I kept in touch with her during my stay. Chris is very friendly and always down for a light-hearted or deep conversation.

The accommodation is very comfortable. The house is large and beautiful and there is a lot of self-grown food to enjoy. The location is absolutely stunning. It has something magical to it. It’s quite remote but there are a lot of very friendly neighbors around. It’s nice that you can enjoy the peace and quiet, but can also be social if you’d like to.

I was here during autumn so we did harvesting, processed food (Making apple sauce, jam, pickling jalapenos), we stored wood for the winter and worked in the garden. In my last week I also set up a media strategy and updated their website.

I spent my free time hiking on the nearby hills and forests, foraging and preparing mushrooms, baking bread or going for trips around Slovenia. I haven’t been bored for a second.

Thank you Chris, Cathy and Auggie for having me.
